Comics: Exclusive Ghostbusters Ongoing #9 preview [Protoncharging.com]

Meeting: Ontario Ghostbusters and the Cross the Streams at the Comic Book Shoppe

"Independent comic book stores all across North America gave away free comic books on Saturday to help celebrate the 10th annual Free Comic Book Day. Ottawa's The Comic Book Shoppe saw a long line of waiting fans that snaked from outside of their Bank Street doors to around the corner. Some comic book fans celebrated the day in style by wearing their best superhero duds. With the long anticipated cinematic release of The Avengers and Ottawa's first ComicCon, the 10th Annual Free Comic Book Day made the week even sweeter to be a comic book fan in Ottawa. Centretown News talked comic books and costumes with The Comic Book Shoppe's Jody Haucke and members of the Ontario Ghostbusters."

Ghostbusters Mania: "Interviews Ghostheads" Ken as "Volguus"

Ghostbusters Mania is proud to present  N°15 (2012) "Interviews Ghostheads" Ken as "Volguus"

Ken, tell us about you. Who are you? What do you do? Do you have other hobbies?
My name is Ken Huegel, known as "Volguus" in the online GB world. I'm 45 years old but I have the body of a 25-year old (hidden in the back of my closet). I've always loved science fiction and fantasy, mostly the futuristic or technological kind. Spaceships and lasers, yes. Hobbits and magic students, not so much. Definitely no emo teen vampires.  I wonder how many enemies I made just now? LOL. I'm New Jersey born and bred, and I currently live in Bucharest, Romania but my heart is still in Southern California where I lived in between. My day job is art director for my wife's advertising agency and I also freelance in photography and voice announcing work. My hobby is still making costumes and props, but it's been somewhat slower and harder to succeed in Romania.

Ghostbusters Mania: "Interviews Ghostheads" Christian of The Miami Ghostbusters

Ghostbusters Mania is proud to present  N°14 (2012) "Interviews Ghostheads" Christian of The Miami Ghostbusters. (Next interview, Friday)

Christian, tell us about you. Who are you? What do you do? Do you have other hobbies?
Hi, My name I Christian Tejada and I’m the “Techie” of the Miami (305) Ghostbusters. I’m originally from Queens, NY but I moved down to Miami Fl about 20 years ago. Right now I have a day job but also repair computers and work as a web designer for an online company that’s starting up. Besides ghostbusting, I like to draw, tinker with other projects including prop building and so on. I have other hobbies but it’s a lot to put up lol.

How was the passion for GB born?
When I was 5 I saw the movie in the theaters and I was like “soooo cool” During the years after, even when I was in living in the Dominican Republic, they would show it on HBPO an I was also tune in to watch it and even act out the movie with my twin brother. I was always Egon, because he would get the chocolate bar lol. After I got back to the states I started watching the cartoons every chance I got and get some of the toys. And my love for the ghostbusters never stopped.

Ghostbusters Mania: "Interviews Ghostheads" Jamie of The Ghostbusters Virginia

Ghostbusters Mania is proud to present  N°13 (2012) "Interviews Ghostheads" Jamie of the Ghostbusters Virginia - (Wednesday another interview!)

Jamie, tell us about you. Who are you? What do you do? Do you have other hobbies?
I'm just a homegrown boy from Richmond, VA. I'm a 23 year old aspiring film maker and with that comes a horde of other hobbies such as writting, prop building, editing and effects work, and other media related things. I also like to draw and hope to at the very least just work in some sort of art related field. Including, graphics work.

How was the passion for GB born?
I've loved Ghostbusters for as long as I can remember. Ghostbusters 2 was releases shortly after I was born and was part of modern media pop culture at the time I was being raised, as well as the cartoon series. Somewhere a video tape exists here I'm only 2 years old, wearing the kenner pack and rolling out the pack. Even at that age I'm quoting Ghostbusters 2, 'We be fast and they be slow!' My love has yet to hinder. I've gone to get involved with the prop building and franchising, as well as collecting the comics and matty collectibles. The past fe years have been good ones to be a Ghostbusters fan.

Peter Venkman: [sternly] What? What "just popped in there?"
Ray Stantz: I- I- I tried to think...
Egon Spengler: Look! [They all look over one side of the roof]
Ray Stantz: No! It can't be!
Peter Venkman: What is it?
Ray Stantz: It can't be!
Peter Venkman: What did you do, Ray?!
